As ASQA move to an audit model where RTOs can be left for years without an audit it is important to keep up to date, learn from the lessons of others and continue to review the practices of the RTO with a focus on achieving and maintaining compliance. To help you do that I have provided a list of the 5 common non compliances across RTOs .
RTOs are failing to:
Develop and use compliant assessment tools including RPL tools (It is a mandatory requirement to offer RPL but many RTOs still don't have a process in place which is student friendly and meets the requirements of RPL.)
Meet Trainer and Assessor VET Professional Development and currency obligations
Meet validation assessment obligations
Develop Training and Assessment Strategies that reflect the practices of the RTOs
Gain industry engagement using a range of strategies, on the training and assessment practise and currency of trainers
